AC Relay FAQs

             Specs OverviewRelay usage

Q: How does this work?
A: The power switch is a circuit breaker. There is a relay inside.

When there is no power, the Normally Closed and Common terminals are connected.
When the relay senses at least 90VAC, the relay trips.
The Normally Closed and Common terminals are disconnected.
The Normally Open and Common terminals are connected.

In this example if AC power is lost or not present, the DC powered light would turn on.

Q: How much power can it handle?
A: 15A at 120V.  Check the spec sheet here.
