FAIL-SAFE RECOVERY
It may be possible to recover using fail-safe recovery.
If you don't have a telnet option, I recommend Putty.
putty.exe is a telnet/ssh terminal utility.
pscp.exe is an scp alternative if you are not running Linux or Windows 10/11
1. Download the sysupgrade firmware and set up a PC for the 192.168.0.x network.
2. Prepare to telnet to 192.168.0.100
3. On PC, open a command prompt and go to the directory containing the sysupgrade file.
3. a. If it is an EPCR controller, unplug the battery and power it off.
4. Set the PC to ping the device continually; e.g. ping 192.168.0.100 -t
5. On Unit, power the unit on while pressing reset about 2x per second. Before 30 seconds, the unit should respond to ping. **
6. Once it responds, cancel the ping and on the PC, telnet to 192.168.0.100 // (Always default address)
7. When logged in to the power controller, type:
cd /tmp
mount_root
8. Upload the firmware
On the PC, in the command-prompt, type:
scp the_sysupgrade_file admin@192.168.0.100:/tmp/
(You will be asked for your password)
You may need to use this option:
scp -O -oHostKeyAlgorithms=+ssh-rsa the_sysupgrade_file admin@192.168.0.100:/tmp
or, if using putty:
pscp -pw admin_password the_sysupgrade_file admin@192.168.0.100:/tmp
9. After the file is uploaded, go to the telnet window and type:
sysupgrade /tmp/the_sysupgrade_file
If the window is not closed and it says "closing all sessions", you're not logged out.
Press Enter to see the prompt ...
copy/paste this code:
lock -u /tmp/.failsafe
for P in /proc/[0-9]*; do
CMDLINE="`hexdump -v -e '/1 "%02X"' $P/cmdline`"
if [ "$CMDLINE" = "2F62696E2F7368002F6574632F707265696E697400" ]; then
kill "${P##/proc/}"
fi
done
Now you are logged out.The firmware will update and the unit will reboot.
It may not say "first time init" after it's done flashing, but give the update a couple of minutes to finish.
** If the unit does not respond to a ping or you are uncomfortable with this procedure, we will need to fix it at DLI.
Request an RMA.
They will respond with the updated form and RMA number and instructions.
